Draft Level Baseball Leagues encompass all baseball played between 3rd - 7th Grade (if age qualified) under Little League International guidelines. 

Because Little League age requirements and participants school year do not always match up WSLL has allowed for an overlapping of leagues. 

The Draft Level division your participant is selected for will be made based on 1) Grade/Age Level AND 2) Skill level as determined by past player evaluations. You will be notified before the official Player Draft as to what division your participant has been slotted. 

The following is a brief description of the Draft Level Divisions:

B Minor is for all participants in 3rd grade, some 4th graders may be included depending upon participation levels in B major and A Ball. This is the first year of the draft league. Coaches will draft their players to assemble their team.  Returning players are evaluated on past performance. New players will be evaluated with a tryout. Kids will pitch the entire season. The end of the season will include playoffs and two all-star teams.

B Major is for participants in 4th and 5th grades. Coaches will draft their players to assemble their teams. This is a competitive league that finishes it's season with playoffs and a championship. B Major plays under Little League baseball rules and is Kid Pitch for the entire season. A 10 year District Team will be selected and 2 10 year old All-Star tournament teams will also be chosen to represent WSLL.

A Ball is for participants in 5th, 6th and 7th grades. Coaches will draft their players to assemble their teams. This is a very competitive league and finishes its season with a regular season champion, playoffs and a championship game. A Ball plays under Little League rules and is Kid Pitch for the entire season. An 11 and 12 year old District Team will be selected as All Star Tournament Teams will also be chosen for 11 and 12 year old participants. 

12U – 11U (Birth year 2011, 2012) 7^th, 6^th and 5^th grade

Competitive fastpitch softball centered around developing softball awareness and skillset. This league has a minimal amount of rule modifications to ensure skillset development and fun and enjoyment for league participants at all skillset levels and experience. Games will be played during the week, with practices and make up games on the weekends. Teams will be selected via a draft process to ensure full balance of teams. All players will be drafted onto a team.

10U – 9U (Birth year 2013, 2014) 5^th, 4^th, 3^rd grade

Fastpitch softball league centered around developing softball awareness and skillset. This league has modified rules to ensure appropriate speed of play and opportunity for players of all skill levels and experience to develop and have fun. Players will pitch with a coach pitch modification for the first 8 games of league play before shifting to a complete player pitch format, including the playoffs. Games will be played during the week, with practices and make up games on the weekends. Teams will be selected via a draft process to ensure full balance of teams. All players will be drafted onto a team.

The Non Draft Baseball Leagues consist of the Coach Pitch Level and the "C" ball level.

The objectives of the Coach Pitch Level (mostly 1st Grade) are to HAVE FUN while learning basic baseball skills and sportsmanship. Our emphasis at this level is to learn the fundamentals of baseball in a positive, non-competitive environment. Scores will not be kept! Each player, regardless of ability, will have the opportunity to play every position. The team’s coach will pitch to the players of his team. In the beginning of the season games will last around an hour or 3-4 innings, whichever comes 1st. Towards the end of the season teams are allowed to play 3 outs an inning (only max once through the lineup still) and therefore may play more than 3-4 innings.

The objectives at the “C” Level (mostly 2nd Grade) are to begin developing players to play different positions, to evaluate their ability at various positions and to see that they can play these positions without any danger to themselves or their teammates. Games last 1 hour and 30 minutes or 6 innings, whichever comes 1st. 

1^st grade

Instructional league and introduction to softball. The league is an introduction to softball for first time players and those with t-ball experience. Games will be played during the week with practices and make up games on the weekends. This league will be formed using schools as basis, with the intent of having at least two schools on a team. Play will be entirely coach pitch with assistance of using a tee to help speed up the game. The intent of this league is to teach the players proper fundamentals of the game, introduce defensive scenarios and safe/out calls.

8U - 7U (Birth year 2015, 2016) 3^rd and 2^nd grade

Fastpitch Instructional league centered around development of softball fundamentals and skillset. Games will be played during the week with practices and make up games on the weekends. This league has modified rules to ensure appropriate speed of play and opportunity for players of all skill levels and experience to develop and have fun. The season will begin with full coach pitch format before shifting to a modified introduction to player pitch format. Teams will be formed with an even mix of age and skillset from multiple schools.

The objectives of the T Ball Level are to HAVE FUN while learning basic baseball skills and sportsmanship. Our emphasis at this level is to learn the fundamentals of baseball in a positive, non-competitive environment. Scores will not be kept! Each player, regardless of ability, will have the opportunity to play every position. Bating will be off a Tee. There will be practice before the start of each game. Practice / Games last 1 hour or 3 innings, whichever comes 1st.
